The iconic CryptoKitties project, which first gained fame in 2017 as one of the pioneers of NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, is making a comeback, this time as a game on Telegram. The new game, titled “All The Zen,” marks the first official release under the CryptoKitties brand since its original launch.
Developed by Dapper Labs, the creator of CryptoKitties, the company has shifted focus in recent years to various licensed crypto products like “NBA Top Shot” and “NFL All Day.” However, with the rising popularity of Telegram games, Dapper Labs has decided to revive the CryptoKitties brand, leveraging its intellectual property once more.
CryptoKitties Returns with Telegram Game
Telegram games have surged in popularity in 2024, with titles like Hamster Kombat attracting over 300 million players. In this context, the release of “All The Zen” aims to tap into the current gaming wave. The game allows players to cultivate eggs that hatch into Kitties, earning “Zen” which can be used for in-game upgrades.

Notably, while many Telegram games have utilized the TON blockchain, Dapper Labs opted for the Flow blockchain, developed by the company itself. This decision follows the high traffic crisis that Ethereum faced back in 2017, largely due to the unprecedented popularity of CryptoKitties, which caused numerous transaction delays.
The increase in players on the Telegram platform is expected to lead to upcoming CryptoKitties airdrops on the Flow network. This new “Play-to-eggdrop” model innovates on previous “Tap-to-earn” and “Play-to-airdrop” strategies, driving player engagement in Telegram gaming. Although some players, like those in Hamster Kombat, have expressed disappointment with their results, many are eager to participate in future airdrops.
“All The Zen” serves as a precursor to a full-scale launch of CryptoKitties on the Flow blockchain, a project initially hinted at in 2020 but delayed due to the success of other Dapper projects. This game promises to immerse players in a lively environment as they attempt to revive the joy of the “ReGenesis Kitty” era.
Accompanying the game’s launch is a new NFT collection called “Egg,” set to debut on Ethereum and offering significant benefits to players in the Telegram game. CryptoKitties, once responsible for 13% of all Ethereum transactions at its peak, now looks to redefine its legacy in the evolving world of blockchain gaming.
