The developers of the clicker game MemeFi have revealed that the project is migrating from the Layer 2 Ethereum network (Linea) to the Layer 1 Sui network just weeks ahead of its token launch and airdrop. This transition marks a significant strategic shift for the project.
In a Telegram post, the MemeFi development team announced their collaboration with Mysten Labs, the creators of the Sui network, to implement marketing strategies and promote the Sui ecosystem. The integration will help bring MemeFi into the Telegram platform, providing users with in-app features and airdrop campaigns to familiarize them with the Sui ecosystem.
MemeFi Announces Airdrop Date
Unlike other Telegram crypto games such as Hamster Kombat, Notcoin, and Catizen, which have opted for the TON network developed by the Telegram team, MemeFi is taking a distinct path by moving to Sui.
The final token launch date for MEMEFI tokens is set for November 12, 2024, with withdrawals to be enabled shortly thereafter. Originally, the token was slated for release on October 9, but was postponed due to unforeseen challenges.
On November 6, the team will take a final snapshot of player activity to facilitate the distribution of tokens during the airdrop. Detailed token allocation information will be disclosed on November 8. Users can estimate their token quantities using partial data via the OKX wallet and the MemeFi bot. To do this, they need to install the OKX non-custodial wallet and connect it to the MemeFi bot, importing the 12-word private key into the OKX wallet.
To qualify for the airdrop, users must meet one of two criteria: the amount of coins collected or the value of completed transactions (in TON and STARS). Notably, these criteria are independent, so fulfilling either one is sufficient for airdrop eligibility. However, only users who have collected at least 50 million coins will qualify. Users meeting these criteria will be assigned higher scores.
In conjunction with this announcement, OKX has also begun pre-market trading for MEMEFI tokens on its futures trading platform, allowing traders to speculate on the token’s future price. At the time of writing, MEMEFI’s pre-launch price on OKX is approximately $0.012.
