Donald Trump Launches New Bitcoin-Based NFT Collection

These NFTs are powered by the Ordinals protocol and will be available for purchase until January 31, 2025.

According to CryptoSlate, users who buy 100 NFT cards from the “Mugshot Edition” collection and link their Bitcoin wallets can mint their NFTs via the Magic Eden marketplace. As of now, users have minted 19 out of the 119 available Ordinals, with the minting period running through the end of January.

The Ordinals protocol allows for the creation of unique digital assets on the Bitcoin blockchain by inscribing data onto satoshis—the smallest unit of Bitcoin. Trump’s trading cards are built using “Alpha sats,” the very first satoshis from a Bitcoin block.

So far, six Trump-inspired Ordinals have been listed on Magic Eden. The current floor price for these NFTs is 0.25 BTC, while the most expensive token in the collection is priced at a staggering 9.8 BTC.

This marks the first time Trump has released an NFT collection on the Bitcoin network. However, he is no stranger to the NFT market, having launched several collections in the past. These offerings often come with exclusive perks for holders, such as golden Trump-themed sneakers or a private dinner with the former president.

The launch highlights the growing intersection between politics, digital art, and blockchain technology, further cementing Bitcoin’s role in the expanding NFT ecosystem.
