Bill Skarsgård is once again dominating horror conversations after Episode 7 of HBO’s “It: Welcome to Derry” aired on December 7, 2025. Titled “The Black Spot,” the episode has been called the strongest of the season so far and has sent the Swedish actor’s name straight back to the top of trending lists worldwide.
Who Is Bill Skarsgård?
Born August 9, 1990 in Stockholm, Bill Skarsgård comes from one of Sweden’s most famous acting families. He is the son of Stellan Skarsgård and younger brother of Alexander and Gustaf Skarsgård. He began acting as a child and gained early recognition in Scandinavian films and TV before moving to Hollywood.
His breakout international role came in 2017 when he portrayed Pennywise the Dancing Clown in Andy Muschietti’s two-part adaptation of Stephen King’s “It.” The films collectively grossed over $1.1 billion and turned Skarsgård into a modern horror icon. Since then he has starred in projects ranging from “Hemlock Grove” and “Castle Rock” to “John Wick: Chapter 4,” “Nosferatu” (2024), and the Netflix series “Clark.”
